' Pepsi drops Dravid, Ganguly '
After Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid were ousted from the one-day squad, the cola giant -- Pepsi -- has decided to drop the duo from Pepsi commercials and plans to replace them with Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma. The reason: The cola giant feels that the fizz has gone out of their commercial potential.
With the two young guns sparkling -- Ishant Sharma & Rohit Sharma -- in the recent Tests and ODI series, Pepsi's top honchos believe that the two youngsters will give the brand a greater visibility for its new 'Youngistan' campaign that focusses on young consumers.
Pepsi officials further reiterate that corporate image is all about attitude and aggression and Rohit and Ishant reflect precisely that. According to the officials, Dravid and Ganguly don't fit the bill as the target audience for the said campaign are youngsters.
Announcing the decision to hire Rohit Sharma and Ishant Sharma, a Pepsi executive said:"From time to time, we review the list of stars. Rohit and Ishant are surely in as they have the attitude and aggression to reflect Pepsi's brand image. If you talk about Rahul and Ganguly, they are not on the list now."
